USERGUIDE:
- First: Place the VBag
approximately where you want the camera, close the valves by
turning them clockwise. Attach the pump nozzle in one of the
valves. Then place the camera firmly on the VBag and wriggle it
into position. By wriggling the camera the polystyrene pellets
inside the VBag are forced to fit exactly around the base of the
camera, or whatever device you want supported. Now evacuate
the VBag using the vacuum pump. The air pressure differential
compresses the polystyrene pellets so it "freezes" the current
shape of the VBag.
- You can expect the VBag to maintaine the full vacuum effect for
hours. If you want to keep the VBag "froozen", insert the
protection caps in the valves. You can maintain the vacuum pressure
in a few strokes, with the vacuum pump. Don't be frustrated over an
apparent loss of evacuation/firmness after moving quickly from cold
to hot settings or exposing an evacuated VBag to direct sunlight or
very warm environment such as a film studio. In all these
situations the air volume expand inside. This will cause the VBag
to soften and lose it's compact state. If so, maintain the vacuum
effect by using the vacuum pump.
Working with the VBag demand the same safety
precautions as working with any other rigging
tools
- Common sense, knowledge and respect for gravity
-
The VBag is a new "tool" which invites to
many new and different rigging
solutions.
When rigging above ground level, or on a
moving object, it is most urgent,
always to secure the camera and VBag's with
safety straps.
VBag Company's products are designed to be functional,
not indestructible.
Therefore, please exercise reasonable caution in site
selection and use.
For use on rough surfaces and unknown settings we
recommend
to use the CARRYbag as a protecting
cover/underlay.
Keep your VBag away from sharp objects.
MAINTENANCE & REPAIR:
- Cleaning: Since the abrasive
force of dirt is the fabric's primary enemy, use mild soap and
water to occasionally wash the VBag and CARRYbag.
- Distribution of the
filling/granulate: Should the
filling/granulate shift to one end of the VBag, simply redistribute
it by tapping and shaking the VBag. This is best done with the
valves open.
- Storage: Be sure to store
the VBag with both valves open. Store in a dry, dark
place.
- Do not expose the VBag
directly to extreme heat sources.
- Difference in air-pressure:
When changing altitude: within a short time, leave the valves
open to let the air expand/reduce.
- If you suspect a leak: As with bicycle
tires, it might happen that the VBag gets a leak. If you suspect a
leak, let air into the VBag and with the valves closed and the
protection caps inserted, pour soap-water unto the suspected area.
Apply pressure by folding or rolling the VBag to expel some air.
Bubbles or a hissing sound indicates a leak. If the VBag has a leak
you can make a quick in-field/on-location repair with almost any
kind of tape. This will in most cases do the job for and hour or
two. Otherwise use the enclosed adhesive and patches to make a
proper repair. Always allowing sufficient drying time. Store the
sealed adhesive container in a cold environment, such as a
refrigerator.
